Daisy Fever

Hi all!!

I am back.  I've been finishing up some fondant work and boy oh boy.....I think I love fondant now.  Now, I know what you're thinking:  Erin!!  Fondant does NOT taste good!  I know, I know.  However, the finished product is just so great!  I'm including a picture of my final project from class tonight.  Also, I've been making some gum paste flowers....cupcakes to follow with those this week.  In the spirit of spring and summer, I hope you enjoy the "daisy cake" as much as I enjoyed making it!

Mickey Mouse!

This is the cake I baked for my nephew's 2nd birthday party!  12 hours later, I was getting antsy to finish, so I don't think it looks as perfect as I'd like, but I still think it came out great!!!  And yes.....it was just as tasty and delish with the fresh strawberry infused whipped cream!  :)

Tonight was my first gum paste and fondant class.  I will be uploading the bow I made.  The other projects won't be completed until next week.

Hi everyone,

I have just finished my first Mickey Mouse Cake.  I used my homemade cake recipe.  I need to start experimenting some more,  It was not the easiest to fill this half sheet cake, but it all worked out.  It's filled with fresh strawberry whipped cream.  I will post pictures a bit later (camera packed for birthday party).

Coming up next aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaare, that's right, CAKE POPS!!!  I am going to make strawberry cake/frosting and then white candy melts! YUUMMY.  The true test will be what my co-workers think.

The research still continues for bakery options, although I'm certain it'll be a while before that comes to fruition.

Hi Everyone...
